Born into a family of entrepreneurs and engineers in Colombia during the violent decades of the 1980s and 90s, Mario left home at 17 determined to build something meaningful. What followed was a deliberately unconventional journey across six continents that shaped how he sees the world—and humanity's future.
He studied Civil Engineering with a minor in Urban Development, taking extended breaks to work as a housekeeper, waiter, and pool cleaner in Vermont and New York—learning humility and work ethic that no classroom could teach. He studied Mandarin in Tianjin, picked berries in Germany, interned on engineering projects at Yale University and World Trade Center 7, and volunteered with an Indigenous-run NGO in the Amazon. After attending Stanford Business School and earning his Master's in Business in Europe, he worked at Philips Electronics and L'Oréal.
But in 2013, the entrepreneurial calling proved irresistible. Mario quit to launch his business, a social enterprise supporting street artists. Starting from a kitchen in Lisbon with 10 volunteers, they transformed city regulations, won Europe's largest social entrepreneurship competition, and scaled to an international marketplace operating across 10+ markets. They facilitated over 120,000 business deals, and partnered with Tesla, BMW, Google, Netflix, and LVMH. Mario raised Private Equity funding in Germany, managing P&L operations and investor reporting before pitching 80+ investors for growth capital (including one memorable Arctic ice hole pitch). Alongside this, he launched BASA Studio and PANTA Magazine, reaching 5M views within a year.
His curiosity—and willingness to ask the "stupid" questions most people won't—led him to what came next.
He created the Mizter Rad Show to have deep, unfiltered conversations with the world's most visionary minds. Through this podcast, Mario has built a network of 1,000+ deep tech pioneers including Stanford AI researchers, Harvard synthetic biology leaders, quantum computing founders, and emerging technology visionaries. Each conversation explores the frontiers of human knowledge: artificial intelligence, synthetic biology, space exploration, longevity, consciousness, and the technologies reshaping our species.
Mizter Rad isn't just a podcast—it's a bridge between today's innovations and tomorrow's possibilities. Mario's background in engineering gives him the technical foundation to understand complex breakthroughs. His entrepreneurial experience helps him see how ideas become reality. His global journey across cultures and continents provides perspective on humanity's shared challenges and opportunities.
Welcome to the Mizter Rad Show — where we explore what's next for humanity.
